My name is Rory Marsden. I am an established and experienced musician and music teacher. I live and work in Norfolk, England. I play piano and keyboard, and am available to play for weddings, parties and other functions. I have contacts with many other musicians, so if you need a band of any size, to play music of any style, I can help you organise that too. Please contact me for availability and fees.
I teach in many Norfolk schools, and also privately in my home. I teach piano, keyboard, ukulele, recorder and music theory, from beginners to Grade 8 and beyond. Many of my pupils opt for musical careers, whether studying music or music technology in various conservatoires and universities, or going into teaching music, or the wider music industry. Other students go into other kinds of work, keeping their music as an absorbing hobby, a vital part of their lives. I am very proud of all my students and their achievements.
My music teaching includes group work, with children and with adults. It’s fun to learn music with others, and it’s great fun to sing in a choir or play in a band or an orchestra. I have always enjoyed directing choirs, orchestras and musical ensembles.
Other than music, my interests include cycling, walking, gardening and other outdoor pursuits. I also enjoy cooking and baking.
I am a family man with two grown-up children. My son is a professional musician, my daughter has just graduated from Durham University with a degree in music.
