The Norfolk Keyboard Orchestra is an orchestra for pianists and keyboard players, and a social setting for making music together. We play all kinds of music, often rock and pop-themed, or music from films. Sometimes we branch out into other, unusual genres!
NKO gives a concert at the end of every term, and that’s the focus of each term’s work.
It’s great fun to make music together, as every orchestral player knows. The opportunities for beginner and intermediate pianists and keyboardists to make music socially are almost non-existent, and it’s for this reason that I founded the Norfolk Keyboard Orchestra in January 2008. The orchestra has gone from strength to strength since then, and these days we use a full PA system, live drums and vocals, which makes the experience very special. I am very proud of NKO, and I have a team of experienced and dedicated staff to run the different Sections and to help keep everyone focussed and making progress together.
Music for NKO is published each term on my website and is available for all members of the orchestra to download and print.
Our uniform is casual, but gives us a brilliant group identity. All NKO members are very proud to wear it. See the NKO uniform here, where you will find photos, sizes, prices and an order form.
Rehearsals take place in Brundall on Thursdays, 5.30 to 7.00pm. The orchestra is open to adults and children alike, at any stage of learning. Please contact me if you would like more information, or download and fill in the Application Form to join NKO. We look forward to welcoming you to a unique and amazing orchestral experience!
